My Story

Before joining 1050 Architects, Julian developed a diverse range of experience across retail, commercial, and private residential projects.

His career began with nearly a decade in fashion retail, where he cultivated a passion for design and detail while working as a visual merchandiser. Transitioning into architecture, Julian contributed to large-scale projects in Colombia, the UK, and Norway during his time at DunnettCraven Architects. He also led freelance ventures, delivering residential refurbishments and restaurant designs with a strong focus on functionality and creating thoughtful, people-centric spaces.

During his time at Kingston University, Julian’s thesis projects delved into the profound relationship between nature and architecture, advocating for ecological principles and the radical reuse of existing structures. His designs showcased an innovative use of sustainable materials, such as rammed earth and timber, and explored ways to integrate architecture with natural systems - such as proposals that allowed the River Thames to reshape the landscape, fostering biodiversity and creating dynamic, resilient spaces.

When Julian isn’t immersed in design work, you’ll likely find him cycling through scenic country lanes, exploring the world of coffee, or capturing candid moments of people on the streets with his camera.
